Inspired by the origin of the founder’s last name, the designs for the debut COQUILLARD&CO. jewelry collection reflect the history of the Coquillards, a band of pirates dating back to the 15th century, who recognized one another by the seashells they wore. Our seashells are molded from real shells found on beaches the world over. A COQUILLARD&CO. piece will become a treasured heirloom … jewelry inspired by history, handmade to last a lifetime.

Coquille

As a first-generation daughter of French-speaking immigrants, I grew up in what used to be a sleepy beach town, Santa Monica, California. Marrying into the Coquillard pirate family and, loving a good story, I launched this line of jewelry to honor the rich past of the ‘Compagnons de la Coquille.’ The creative process, launching something from nothing, building brands … that’s what I’ve done as an entertainment and tech-media executive and continue to do … this time with COQUILLARD&CO. Design tells a particular story, and the La Mer ‘19 collection speaks to those of us with ‘les pies dans l’eau’ - our feet in the water. Feel the sand, embrace the tide and surf our debut collection.

Catherine Coquillard was a gift with purchase when I married her brother. She is a true descendant of the Coquillard clan, holds a Graduate Gemologist degree from the Gemological Institute of America, and graduated from Stanford University with a BA in Art History. She launched Coquillard Consulting, LLC in 2015 after working for more than 30 years with some of the country’s biggest retailers: Macy’s, QVC, Belk and Helzberg. Her long and successful career in the jewelry industry has given her a unique combination of experience — department store, TV channel selling and mall jeweler — which she now shares with private clients.
